Hometown Queen
Camille Turner
This is Camille Turner’s Hometown Queen. Created in 2010, it's part of a larger series of photographs also titled Hometown Queen.
Here we are introduced to Camille Turner’s character, Miss Canadiana, a fictitious pageant queen who wears a glamorous red gown, satiny sash, and shimmery tiara.
Dressed in character, Turner as Miss Canadiana makes live appearances all around the world. All glitzed up with her magnetic personality, she draws a crowd. It’s all in the performance!
In Hometown Queen, she travels back to her childhood roots to tell a story of race, belonging, and perception.
